Overview

The G4 Doorbell Pro is still the UniFi doorbell I point people toward when they want the most polished front-door experience rather than the cheapest one.

Why I Recommend It

I recommend the Ubiquiti G4 Doorbell Pro for its premium front-door experience with integrated display, better package coverage than the cheaper doorbell options. Where Doorbell Lite focuses on the essentials, the G4 Doorbell Pro adds the extras that make daily use feel more premium: an integrated display, enhanced package coverage, and a generally more capable…

Performance & Reliability

In practice, the dual-camera approach is what separates it from cheaper options. You get better package visibility, solid FHD video at the main door, IR night vision out to 6 m, and the kind of wider awareness that helps with deliveries and visitors. Reliability is strong once power is sorted, though it is still a more involved install than a simple plug-in chime plus budget doorbell setup.

Setup & Installation

This is the model where installation planning matters. Standard AC wiring can work, but transformer health, Wi-Fi quality, and chime compatibility matter more than they do on simpler products. Buyers who want the cleanest deployment should at least consider the separate PoE Kit version, even though this review is for the standard G4 Doorbell Pro.

Value for the Money

It is not a cheap doorbell, but it does justify its price if your front door sees a lot of packages or if you want UniFi's nicest consumer-style doorbell experience. If you only care about basic alerts and video, Doorbell Lite is the more rational value pick.
