How recommendations work
Affiliate relationships do not influence which products I recommend or how I describe them. My recommendations are based on:
Direct testing and personal use of the product, technical assessment of the product's protocol support, local control capability, and reliability track record, community feedback from Home Assistant and smart home forums, and fit with the IT-first philosophy this site is built on.
If I would not put a product in my own home, I will not recommend it here. If a product has significant drawbacks, I will say so.
