I recommend the Ubiquiti G3 Reader Pro for its rich access experience with camera, pin, and display, face unlock and two-way audio add real front-door utility. At about $379, this is clearly a premium reader, but it earns that label. The question is not whether it is good. It is whether the door really needs premium interaction. If the answer is yes, the price lands reasonably well.
This is a high-function reader that covers a lot of ground in one body. The camera, microphone, speaker, display, and face-unlock support make it far more capable for visitor handling than the smaller readers. Once you add Touch Pass and outdoor readiness, it starts to feel like a front-lobby device rather than a side-door credential scanner.
The feature count means the design matters more. Placement, approach angle, and the user interaction flow all matter here in ways they do not on a simple G3 Reader. Still, if the site genuinely needs what it offers, the installation is easier than piecing together multiple devices to do the same job.
