Overview

Power Distribution Hi-Density is the rack power product I recommend when a UniFi deployment has grown past a handful of appliances and you want power delivery to look as organized as the network itself.

Why I Recommend It

I recommend the Ubiquiti Power Distribution Hi-Density for its excellent outlet density for larger racks, cleaner cable management than basic pdus. Compared with Power Distribution Pro, this is the cleaner fit for dense racks where outlet count and cable discipline matter more than front-panel convenience. It is less of a smart strip and more of …

At this price, it makes the most sense in racks with enough UniFi gear to justify real cable management. Smaller builds will get better value from Power Distribution Pro, but larger deployments can absolutely justify the extra spend here.

Performance & Reliability

The real strength here is mechanical efficiency. In a crowded rack, the 0U/2U mounting flexibility and large outlet count make it much easier to keep brick adapters, power leads, and service loops under control without turning the side of the rack into a mess. It is not a UPS and it is not redundant power by itself, but as a distribution layer it feels dependable and purpose-built.

Setup & Installation

Setup is straightforward if the rack is already planned well. The work is mostly physical: deciding placement, labeling runs, and assigning outlets logically so future maintenance is painless. It rewards tidy installers more than casual home users.

Value for the Money

At this price, it makes the most sense in racks with enough UniFi gear to justify real cable management. Smaller builds will get better value from Power Distribution Pro, but larger deployments can absolutely justify the extra spend here.
