The U7 Pro Outdoor is a weatherproof WiFi 7 access point built for permanent exterior installation. It extends WiFi coverage to outdoor spaces including decks, patios, parking areas, and exterior common areas that a standard indoor AP's signal can't reliably reach through walls or over distance.

Standard access points in an indoor ceiling generate outdoor signal that's typically attenuated by 15 to 20 dB just passing through an exterior wall. What makes it through is often enough to show in the device list but not enough for reliable speeds. The U7 Pro Outdoor is designed from the start to serve outdoor clients with full strength signal.
WiFi 7 outdoor APs are rare from any vendor. Most outdoor WiFi equipment tops out at WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E. For clients that support WiFi 7, including new laptops and phones, the outdoor signal quality is meaningfully better.
Outdoor coverage in open space extends significantly farther than an indoor AP of equivalent power. In an open backyard or parking lot, one U7 Pro Outdoor can cover an area that would require two or three indoor APs if they could even reach the space.
IP67 means submersion tolerance, not just splash resistance. The housing is designed for the full range of outdoor conditions. Internal temperature management handles the wider thermal swings of outdoor mounting better than repurposed indoor hardware would.
Cable entry sealing is the most important installation detail. UV-resistant conduit seal or an appropriate gland fitting prevents moisture ingress at the cable entry point over time.
Mount to an exterior surface using the included bracket. Route Cat6 with proper waterproofing at the entry point. Adopt in UniFi Network the same way as any indoor AP. Positioning for optimal coverage of the outdoor space is straightforward since there are no walls or floors to model.
Compared to extending indoor WiFi with a WiFi extender or mesh node pointed at an exterior wall, the U7 Pro Outdoor provides dramatically better results at lower long-term frustration cost.
For a home with an active outdoor space like a pool area, large patio, or home office outbuilding within 150 feet, one outdoor AP solves the coverage problem cleanly. The cost is higher than an indoor AP but lower than the alternatives typically explored before someone lands on the right solution.
